Looking back & Looking forward
Good morning friends. I assume that you are all in school enjoying your classes. I just wanted to remind you Jr. High peeps to sign up and come to Broomball. It is this Friday and it is so fun. To all peeps: Be looking for your calendars... They should be in the mail by the end of this week. Here is this week's version of looking back & looking forward..Looking Back: Last week we talked about what it means to love the world. It means we treasure the things of this world and what is stands for i.e. the desires of our flesh, eyes and taking pride in who we are and what we have more than we treasure the Savior.
Those things like popularity, money, sex, friends, yourself, good grades, gossip, bitterness, anger, etc. are things of the world and they dishonor God. On top of that, they don't last. Only doing God's will i.e. trusting in Him, obeying Him will last. Because of this, we need to be careful to not get caught up into the temptations of this world and what it has to offer.Looking Forward: This coming Sunday we are going to look at 1 John 2:18-27 where God is going to warn us about antichrists i.e. those who claim they know & love Jesus, but really don't. We will also look at the differences between those who do love Jesus and those who only claim to. We will finish things off by looking at the confirmation of those who know Jesus. They are people who have eternal life and they continue to remain if fellowship with Jesus. Please be praying that God will open up our hearts to hear & respond to His Word both at Ignite & Ignition. Have a great week.
